Job Summary

The Marketing Lead is responsible for brand development and outlet visibility for beers. Working directly with the CEO, they determine where best to dedicate company resources to maximize the awareness, education, and demand for the company's beers.
 

Above-the-line (ATL) marketing primarily includes digital marketing and Public Relations. Below the Line (BTL) marketing primarily includes activations and Point of Sale (POS) materials in outlets, and merchandise


 

Key Responsibilities

Activation Management

  • Oversee the Activation Manager, ensuring seamless execution of brand activations.
  • Oversee training and activation strategies.
  • Plan and schedule weekly activations in coordination with the Sales Manager.
  • Ensure activators are punctual, well-presented, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports with actionable insights.
  • Continuously improve activation effectiveness, including hiring and performance management.

Creative & Content Management

  • Supervise the Graphic Designer and content team (photographers, videographers as needed).
  • Work with the CEO to uphold brand guidelines for all visual materials.
  • Coordinate flyer needs with stakeholders, ensuring timely design and approvals.

Social Media & Digital Presence

  • Oversee digital marketing,partnerships, and e-commerce strategies.
  • Develop a monthly content plan aligned with brand strategy.
  • Engage with followers and ensure consistent online brand visibility.

POS Materials & Promotional Assets

  • Work with procurement and suppliers to source high-quality POS materials (uniforms, signage, etc.).
  • Maintain inventory, ensure safekeeping, and track usage.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies tailored to various sales channels.
  • Work with the CEO and Sales Manager to drive promotional campaigns and  in-store marketing.
  • Use customer insights to refine brand positioning and engagement tactics.
  • Equip the sales team with marketing tools, training, and visibility initiatives.
  • Monitor budgets, track performance, and optimize ROI on all marketing efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in  marketing/brand management (preferably in beer, wine, spirits, or FMCG)
  • 5+ years of experience in beer and a strong understanding of on- & off-trade marketing strategies in East Africa

Key Skills

  • Proven experience with managing a team
  • Proven ability to analyze market trends, sales data & consumer behavior
  • Experience in digital marketing, social media & event activations
