Job Summary

We are looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support Shukran’s commercial growth by generating, qualifying, and nurturing new B2B leads within the hospitality ecosystem. This role is critical to fueling the sales pipeline and enabling our Business Development Managers to close high-impact partnerships.

 

The ideal SDR is energetic, curious, resilient, and thrives on conversations. You enjoy opening doors, building first relationships, and learning deeply about customer needs. You will be on the frontlines of Shukran’s expansion into hotels, restaurants, tour operators, and hospitality groups across Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Generation & Qualification

  • Identify and research prospective hospitality partners across targeted Kenyan markets.
  • Conduct outbound outreach via calls, WhatsApp, email, and in-person visits where applicable.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads based on defined criteria (segment, size, readiness).
  • Book high-quality meetings and demos for Business Development Managers.

2. Market Outreach & Activation

  • Support market activation initiatives including site visits, roadshows, and partner events.
  • Build early relationships with decision-makers and influencers within hospitality businesses.
  • Educate prospects on Shukran’s digital tipping and financial services value proposition.

3. Pipeline Management & CRM

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date lead and activity records in Shukran’s CRM.
  • Track outreach performance, conversion rates, and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure smooth handover of qualified opportunities to Business Development Managers.

4. Sales Enablement & Learning

  • Develop strong knowledge of Shukran’s products, use cases, and customer pain points.
  • Continuously refine messaging based on feedback from prospects and the field.
  • Stay informed on hospitality market trends and competitor offerings.

5. Collaboration & Feedback

  • Work closely with Business Development, Customer Success, and Marketing teams.
  • Share market insights, objections, and customer feedback to improve sales playbooks.
  • Contribute to refining SDR processes and outreach strategies as the company scales.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–12 months of exposure in either sales, customer acquisition, call center sales, or field sales (B2B preferred).
  • Strong interest in fintech, hospitality, or technology-driven solutions.
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with phone-based and field-based outreach.
  • Highly organized, disciplined, and goal-oriented.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field is an advantage.
